Benidorm shows its solidarity with Alzheimer's patients and relatives throughout the week
Benidorm starts this week the events scheduled on the occasion of Alzheimer's Week and from today on the main balcony of Benidorm City Council a banner in solidarity with Alzheimer's patients and relatives is displayed.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, together with the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, representatives of the different municipal groups and the president of AFA (Association of Relatives and Patients with Alzheimer's), of the Marina Baixa, Garbiñe Mondragón, have deployed the canvas in a gesture that announces that Alzheimer's Week is being celebrated in Benidorm and its region.
The councilwoman Ángela Llorca has reported that "the events have started today also celebrating a day of living together with various associations such as AFEM and ASMIBE in the Children's Traffic Park of Benidorm."
On Tuesday 17, there will be an excursion to Cullera-Gandía, with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Alicante. On Wednesday 18, a talk between the head of the neurology service of Benidorm Clinical Hospital, Dr. Hernández Martínez, and the AFA Marina Baixa Psychologist, Beatriz Albaladejo on "Prevention as a way of life, stimulates your brain." On Thursday, the 19th, a mass will be held in the Parish of Our Lady of La Almudena and on Friday the 20th, information and petition tables will be installed in the streets Alameda and Tomás Ortuño and Plaza de SS. The central event of Alzheimer's Week will take place on Saturday, September 21, World Alzheimer's Day, at 6.30 pm in the auditorium of the City of Benidorm, with the performance of Poniente Choir and a music therapy session, with the director of the School of Music, Roberto Carballo. The donation ticket is 3 euros.
To end on Sunday 22 the traditional day of coexistence and “Solidarity Food” will be held at Arrocería La Marina.
