During yesterday's session, the team shot in the Castell and Mal Pas
Benidorm, scene of a new Bollywood production
The powerful Indian film industry, popularly known as 'Bollywood', has set its sights on Benidorm, which is going to become one of the settings for the next film by the production company 'People Media Factory LLP'. Throughout the day yesterday, the team of the feature film 'Rama rao on duty was shot in two very emblematic locations in Benidorm, such as Plaça and the small square of El Castell, as well as on Mal Pas beach.
The weather conditions did not prevent the filming of the planned sequences in Benidorm, which began early in the morning and in which a crew of 30 people participated. The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councillor for Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, approached the shoot to welcome the film's producer and the members of the team. During this visit to the 'set', the producer of 'Rama rao on duty' highlighted the great work and diligence of Benidorm Film Office.
Toni Pérez recalled that “Benidorm already hosted a filming with the signature of 'Bollywood' in the summer of 2016, which shows that the city is attractive for the productions of an industry that every year draws billions of spectators to the cinema in India". “These films represent a platform for promoting our destination in a market in which we do not carry out direct actions, while allowing us to reach viewers of this nationality who reside in different parts of Europe and who, consequently, have an easier time travelling to Spain”, he pointed out.
The mayor has stressed that "since we started 2022, the activity and audiovisual presence has been very intense in Benidorm, starting with the Benidorm Fest, and everything indicates that this trend will continue in the coming weeks and months, in which the city will return to be a set for the filming of series and the setting for advertising campaigns for major brands”.
After passing through Benidorm, the shooting of the film 'Rama rao on duty' will travel to other locations on the Costa Blanca and the Spanish geography. This production is directed by Sarath Mandava and stars the interpreters Divyansha and Rajisha Vijayan, and the actor Ravi Teja.
