1,500 people demonstrate in the streets of the city for peace in the face of Putin's aggression
Benidorm says No to war with a march for peace and in solidarity with Ukraine people
More than 1,500 people have participated this morning in Benidorm in a solidarity march with the Ukrainian people against the war that is devasting this European country.
The call, organized by 'Encuentros Empresariales' association, has had the support of Benidorm City Council and local and regional Ukrainian and Russian groups, in addition to the presence of the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for the Presidency, Ana Pellicer; and councillors from the three municipal political groups. The national deputy, Agustín Almodóbar, and the regional deputy, Manuel Pérez Fenoll, have also attended.
The demonstration toured Paseo de Levante and ended in La Hispanidad square. There, on behalf of the City Council, Toni Pérez addressed the attendees to bet on the peace "that Ukraine deserves, that the world deserves and that Benidorm deserves" he asked to end the invasion promoted by Vladimir Putin that has already killed thousands of lives and with thousands of exiled refugees.
Antonio Alcaraz, on behalf of Encuentros Empresariales association, thanked the support of the City Council and the Ukrainian and Russian colonies of Benidorm and advocated "stopping this war altogether".
