Benidorm reopens tomorrow the facilities of Palau d'Esports and the Sports City
After starting the city Phase 2 of the restrictions lifting, Benidorm City Council reopens tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, part of the municipal sports facilities, as reported by the mayor, Toni Pérez. This reopening "will be carried out in stages and begins tomorrow with the commissioning of a good part of the facilities of Palau d'Esports l'Illa and Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor."
The mayor has remarked that in this reopening "all the hygiene-sanitary measures and standards are complied with, which will also be required of users in the facilities"; and added that "access to them will be done by turns and their use will have to be specified by an appointment".
As detailed by Toni Pérez, the facilities of Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor that resume the activity are: the F1, F2 and F3 sports courts; tennis, athletics track and petanque courts; pediments; football stadium; and the artificial grass football field. As for Palau d'Esports, the heated pool will be open to the public from tomorrow; the covered pavilion in its different sections; the paddle and tennis courts; pilota valenciana carrer; and the skating track.
The mayor has clarified that "collective sports facilities are reserved for non-professional federated teams upon request from the clubs, which must indicate the day, time and space requested." Based on these requests, "the Sports Department will assign turns, schedules and courts to the clubs."
Regarding private users who want to use the facilities, they must make a prior reservation, one day in advance, through the phone number of the Department (966815472), operating from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 14.00 hours. Reservations for weekends will be made on Fridays.
Regarding the measures, all users must wear a mask before accessing the facilities and on entry and exit routes to them, and these protection elements can only be removed at the time of practicing sports, and must return to use them upon completion. Furthermore, the interpersonal safety distance of 2 meters must be respected at all times.
Upon arrival at the facilities, users must identify themselves with their DNI, and access them with the appropriate clothing for practicing sports. The use of the changing rooms is limited to pool activities and exclusively to change clothes. Users of the pool must bring their own towel and must use a swimming cap or mask, flip flops or booties and a cap.
