Benidorm reopens Ibiza Street after completing renovation to its water infrastructure while painting is completed

Benidorm City Council has reopened the section of Ibiza Street, which was undergoing renovation work between Europa Avenue and Esperanto Street to traffic and pedestrians. This work has enabled the renovation of the sewer system, the preparation of the street for various services, and the incorporation of a rainwater collection system that did not exist before and another for recycled water.
The street, which also features improvements to the sidewalks, paving, furniture, trees, and accessibility, was visited this afternoon by the Mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate. The project involved an investment of €400,000 financed by the concessionaire Hidraqua, using the Renewal Fund for the municipal Drinking Water and Sewerage service concession.
The street is now open to traffic, although the final painting work on the pavement is being completed. The mayor specified that this intervention was carried out because the section where the work was carried out "showed signs of wear and tear after decades of lack of intervention," and this had been causing "continuous breakdowns and interventions by the municipal service." Therefore, it was decided to act to "finally put an end to these problems" and take advantage of the opportunity "to also, once the work is completed, carry out the improvement and renovation of the sidewalks, which have been affected by the works."
Toni Pérez also emphasized that after the work, "accessibility and safety have been guaranteed, and the sidewalks are aesthetically in keeping with the urban environment of the area." The mayor emphasized that this action "leaves everything ready to add other services underground when necessary."
