Benidorm Tourism Foundation participates this week and for the second consecutive year in the Roadshow of Italy, representing the destination Benidorm and the hand of the Spanish Office of Tourism in Milan and the Costa Blanca Board.
In this Roadshow that consists of an itinerant action for a geographical area, three workshops will be held through which Visit Benidorm will hold meetings with travel agencies in the area in order to know the possibilities that the capital of the Coast Blanca can offer you.
This edition is extended to one more day and other cities will be visited different from last year such as Rome, Florence, Verona and Turin to make known all the city's offer. It is a meeting with the objective of promoting the marketing of the Benidorm product framed in Spain in the Italian market.
In 2017 the cities visited were Bologna Padua and Milan with a very positive evaluation of the participation in these workshops due to the large number of participants. Many of them were unaware of all the possibilities offered by Benidorm for their clients and were interested in knowing them thoroughly.
In Alicante in 2018, they market flights Ryanair, Vueling, Easyjet, Volotea with the cities of Rome, Milan (both airports) Bologna and Venice, with more than 900 flights during this year and more than 165,000 available seats.
The Italian tourist in its majority (82.9%) chooses Italy to travel, being the trips abroad only 17.8%, of which 9.8% are within the European Union. Within these holidays abroad, Spain is the leading destination for long holidays: 12%.
With regard to the Peninsula, there are more and more Italian agencies that organize a tailor made trip, regardless of the proposals of the tour operation, which is why Benidorm works on adapting to the demands of the market involving intermediation and encouraging the creation of business.
The Italian market is the 4th issuer of tourists for Spain. A stable market with little accelerated growth prospects whose main problem is the low level of knowledge of the Spanish offer and its variety and diversity of products and destinations. The Valencian Community is the 6th in arrivals of Italians to Spain.
