Benidorm ratifies the suitability of the plot offered for the new health center in Rincón de Loix
Conselleria has asked to confirm that on the site a center of around 2,650 square meters can be built
Benidorm City Council has ratified the suitability of the plot offered to the Ministry of Health for the new health center in Rincón de Loix in Zamora street, next to Antonio López football field. The reports of the technicians of Architecture, Engineering and Health confirm that urbanistically the plot is adapted to the characteristics of the center now foreseen by Conselleria: a building of about 2,650 square meters.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that the reports respond to a letter sent by Conselleria at the end of December. In that letter, Sanidad states that "the functional program of the new health center dated November 17, 2014 has been updated on November 24, 2016 to collect the current needs of health care in the area, estimating a total area for the new center of 2,650 square meters ".
In that same letter, the Conselleria points out that in order to draft the project and subsequently carry out the work, it is necessary to ensure "the integration of the new center into the urban structure" and to ensure "adequate access" and " the urban services that will be required ".
In this regard, the Architecture report states that the construction of the health center in the municipal parcel offered and in the terms proposed by the Ministry is "totally viable regarding environment, urban and sanitary" conditions; while the Health area points out that "there is no problem whatsoever" for the health center to be built on the site of Zamora Street, which has an area of 3,558 square meters.
Engineering has indicated the conditions to be met by the new building - which is the responsibility of the Conselleria - to adapt to the requirements of PATRICOVA, and have been included the reports of companies providing services on water, electricity, telephony and gas.
The mayor said that "all these reports have already been sent to Valencia," and added that "now, as in 2014, we are being diligent to meet the requirements of the Ministry to give the green light to the new Health Center of Rincón de Loix, start working on the project and the building becomes a reality as soon as possible because it is a necessity.
In this regard, the mayor has indicated that the last rainy season has shown that "the current health center does not offer the best conditions," which has led the local government - pending the new building - to include resources in the municipal budget for 2017 to attend the most urgent actions that improve their image and comfort. "We have included 45,000 euros to try to meet some of the most urgent needs" presented by the center, where the rainy season and the wind of January caused leaks and the detachment of part of the facade.
