Benidorm presents its offer of festivals and events, with twelve appointments in 2019
Benidorm consolidates itself as 'The city of festivals'
Benidorm has presented at the International Fair of Madrid (FITUR) its calendar of festivals and events in 2019. A calendar that will have twelve dates: nine festivals and three leisure events, as announced today at a press conference by the mayor, Toni Pérez , next to the councilman of the area, José Ramón González de Zárate. Pérez has pointed out "one more year Benidorm is synonymous of good music, musical and cultural events, mainly festivals, with an offer that, like the destination, is deseasonalized and constitutes a tourist attraction of great relevance".
Pérez has indicated that "through the brand MUSIC & EMOTION, we are back to betting on these events and musical events, which last year were joined by more than 200,000 attendees turning Benidorm into 'The City of Festivals' with an offer for all tastes " He also noted that "to this commitment to tourism events and festivals have joined companies and local establishments, which have made their facilities available to promoters thus expanding the venues for these musical and leisure events."
The great majority of those attending the 2018 festivals and events spent the night in Benidorm for several days. "And that is exactly what we are looking for with the 2019 festival and events calendar: those people who travel to Benidorm attracted by one of these proposals stay overnight in the city, get to know it and enjoy all our tourist offer", manifested One possibility, this one more feasible with festivals and events lasting several days.
Pérez has indicated that of the nine festivals scheduled for 2019, seven already accumulate several editions. These are the Low Festival, Fuzzville, Con Mucho Arte, Regueatton Beach Festival, Funtastic, Visor Fest and Iberia Festival. They are joined by Iberia Festival Club, which will be "an advance" of the event that has already accumulated seven editions; and the Music & Emotion, a cycle of events with different proposals that will be developed in three consecutive weekends.
In addition, the city hosts three other events linked to leisure, which also accumulate many editions behind them: Benidorm Salsa Congress - which annually brings together thousands of fans of this dance and makes Benidorm "the European capital" of this modality-, Benidorm Pride - indisputable referent for the LGBTI public-, and the Fancy Dress, the costume party mainly led by British tourists and which annually concentrates more than 25,000 people.
The mayor has informed that the season of events is advanced this year at the end of March, extending until mid-November.

July, from 8 to 14. Benidorm Salsa Congress.
July, 13. Regueatton Beach Festival. 2nd edition of this festival, which in 2018 hosted more than 10,000 spectators.
July, 20. Con mucho Arte. Pop Flamenco Festival that celebrates its third edition.
July, from 26 to 28. Low Festival, which reaches its eleventh edition being a reference and being considered one of the five best national festivals.
August, weekends of the 17, 24 and 31. MUSIC & EMOTION.
September, from 2 to 8. Benidorm Pride.
September, 13 and 14. Visor Fest. Second edition of the music festival of the 80s and 90s.
October, 11 and 12. Iberia Festival. The event has already seven editions.
November, 1 and 2. Funtastic Festival. 13th edition of a different festival, icon of punk and garage music.
November, 16. Benidorm Fancy Dress.
