During this first quarter, interventions were made in almost thirty enclaves, with some 200 new specimens to improve the urban scene and reduce the carbon footprint.
Benidorm plants new trees in all areas of the city
The new trees will absorb around ten tons of CO2 per year, which will increase as they grow
Benidorm City Council has started a significant action to plant new trees in the city that will cover practically all the neighborhoods of the town and that will last during this first quarter. The first actions have already begun and the rest will continue in the coming weeks until completing some 200 new copies.

"All these plantations create biodiversity in the city of Benidorm, favoring the absorption of CO2" indicated the mayor, who added that "these plantations represent a great opportunity to offset the carbon footprint." It must be taken into account that each tree can absorb about 25 kilos of carbon dioxide per year, an amount that increases as the specimens grow, so these new trees will absorb around ten tons of CO2 per year. year".
Next week the action will continue with the planting of a variety of 'Bismarkia' or blue palm trees on Ricardo Bayona street, specifically at the junction of Nicaragua and Cuba streets. Likewise, the plantations will continue in Parque de Foietes and Rincón de Loix.
