Benidorm Local Police seize more than 3,000 counterfeit items in 9 establishments

Benidorm Local Police seized more than 3,000 counterfeit items in nine establishments in the city as part of "Operation Bangladesh." Operation Bangladesh was carried out yesterday, involving 12 officers and municipal inspectors from the City Council's Commerce and Consumer Affairs departments. The operation was deployed simultaneously in the nine establishments, all located in the Rincón de Loix area.
As a result of the operation, in addition to the seized products, seven individuals have been charged with crimes related to industrial and intellectual property.
The Councillor for Public Security, Jesús Carrobles, explained that "the operation is the result of the inspections carried out by the Local Police to combat the sale of counterfeit products, a task in which efforts have been redoubled."
In fact, before yesterday's intervention, local police inspections carried out in recent months at five establishments had resulted in the seizure of more than 2,000 counterfeit sportswear items, three people were charged with intellectual and industrial property offences, and reports were also opened for violations related to labour matters and for not having a business license.
