Nationally manufactured and 4 meters in diameter, they regulate their light intensity and are totally efficient

Benidorm installs the first suspended luminaires designed exclusively for Mediterráneo Avenue project

22 May 2020
Benidorm instala las primeras luminarias suspendidas diseñadas en exclusiva para la obra de Mediterráneo

Throughout June all the ones planned in La Hispanidad Square will be installed and later those of the avenue

The City Council and the company in charge of the remodeling works on Mediterráneo Avenue have begun the installation of the luminaires proposed in the project, which have been exclusively designed for Benidorm and whose main characteristic is to be suspended by steel cables. Yesterday afternoon, two of the nearly 20 lights planned for La Hispanidad Square were installed, and after the test, the rest are expected to be installed throughout the month of June.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that "the production of these lights is 100% Spanish", the work of an SME based in Murcia (NTE Sistemas), and in the design and configuration process have participated the company, construction company, the construction management and the City Council.

Toni Pérez recalled that “in planning the new Mediterráneo Avenue we were very ambitious and sought a design that was exclusive and avant-garde, a feature that permeates the entire urban scene and logically also the luminaires that have the uniqueness of being suspended by a steel wiring that starts from some columns, thus saving the tops of the trees without losing light ”.

As detailed by the mayor, these nationally manufactured luminaires are 4 meters in diameter and are endowed with ‘led’ technology, “thus resulting in the municipal strategy of efficiency and energy saving”. In addition, the power and light intensity are adjustable "according to needs". In fact, in the test carried out yesterday they were tested at a third of the maximum power and intensity.

Once the twenty luminaires planned for La Hispanidad Square have been installed, the around 70 projected on Mediterráneo Avenue will be placed.
