The results will be at the end of the month and will be provided to the companies submitted to the tender
Benidorm City Council, through a specialist company, has begun the preliminary geotechnical study for tender necessary technical assistance for the drafting of Phase 1 of remodeling of the Mediterráneo Avenue. Thus compliance is given to the Law on Public Sector Contracts which states that, with exceptions, "the project must include a geotechnical study of the land". Predictably, the findings of this study will be available later this month and will be provided to all companies submitted to the tender. This geotechnical study will also determine whether from the architectural point of view is included the construction of an underground parking. Regarding this, the report prepared by the drafting company for the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) concludes that it would not be profitable for "lack of annual average demand" as the needs of places are seasonal. In fact, the report marks that profitability would not happen until at least 25 years after its construction, and proposes alternatives such as increasing parking spaces in the area. In the last Urban Scene Advisory Council held on September 7, municipal technicians and political reponsible, businesses and neighborhood representatives addressed the remodeling of the Mediterráneo Avenue. In this Council the specifications developed by the Engineering department to bid the draft for the implementation of the first phase and design were provided. The remodeling includes Plaza Triangular and its area of influence and the streets adjacent to the avenue: El Puente, Dr. Pérez Llorca, Valencia; Bilbao Avenue; and sections of Emilio Romero, Europa, Murcia, Cuenca, Mallorca, Filipinas, Almería and Madrid Avenue.
