The staff, hired by the City Council for three months within the framework of ‘Eplayas 2021’ program, has joined their positions today

Benidorm City Council has increased its ‘Safe Beaches’ device with the hiring of 58 people under 30 years of age who will carry out information and support tasks. This staff, hired within the framework of the regional program ‘Eplayas2021’ in which the municipalities participate, has today joined their posts on the beaches of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, stressed that "Benidorm is most likely the first destination in the Valencian Community to incorporate this staff, who since this morning are providing service and serving all users who want to enjoy our beaches", that " Let's not forget that they are one of the five most important urban beaches in the world and they are very popular ”. At this point he recalled that "last year from mid-June to the October bridge, 2.5 million people passed through our beaches, with maximum occupancy peaks of more than 43,500 people in a single day."

Toni Pérez has stressed that "this information and attention service is essential, since it constitutes the first line of kindness and hospitality that Benidorm always offers, in this case in what we love most, which are our beaches." A message that the mayor himself has conveyed to the 58 informants, whom he has welcomed along with the mayor of Playas, Mónica Gómez, and the head of Human Resources, Ángela Zaragozí.

The mayor recalled that “last year, aware of the need to report on the operations of the beaches and the health regulations in force at all times, the City Council, through the comprehensive management of the beaches, provided this information and access control and capacity service ”. A contingent that, later, was reinforced with personnel hired by the Generalitat for information tasks.

"This summer people are even more familiar with our beach management system, based on the division of the sandy areas to guarantee the safety distance," said Toni Pérez, who stressed that "the organization and devices of the beaches are they will be modulating them according to the tourist reality of each moment and the evolution of health regulations, and even, if necessary, reinforcing services such as information and support with their own resources ”. And all this "with the aim that our beaches continue to be an example of health safety, are perfectly cared for and all users enjoy the best experience."

‘Eplayas 2021’ program is co-financed by the Generalitat and the City Council. Thus, a grant from LABORA of 285,671.88 euros has been obtained; while the municipal contribution amounts to 90,570.88 euros. The 58 informants hired have been selected by LABORA following the criteria set by the Generalitat itself.
