The Tourist Info Office of El Torrejó puts into service a new system to publicize the tourist offer
Benidorm increases its innovative commitment with milestones in digital information for tourists
The Assembly Hall hosts the celebration of the World Tourism Day tomorrow with the presentation of "Benidorm City" awards
Benidorm increases the digitalization of its services by proposing a new tourist experience for the visitor who goes to the tourist information offices. It is about offering a new concept of Information Office that aims not only to inform users but that visitors can discover and experience how much the city offers them. For this, the Tourist Info head office, located in El Torrejó building, has new digital services with which to know the different tourist resources of the city, through digital elements. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the professionals who manage the Tourism area, visited the facilities to see first-hand the improvements introduced in the information services that are provided since this afternoon.
In this case, it is about improving the visitor experience by providing four totems with digital screens distributed by themes "Discover Benidorm", "What to do?", "Surroundings" and "Smart Destination". Each one of them has a digital screen in the front in which it offers information about the destination, the surroundings, posters and promotional videos among others. The aim is to inspire the visitor on the range of possibilities that are before it, the tourist offer, the events and other activities that take place in Benidorm. Milestones include methacrylate booklets placed at an optimal height to promote accessibility.
One of the totems, "Smart Destination", informs of the establishments affiliated to the SICTED and the progress that Benidorm is making in its transit towards the Smart Tourist Destination, developing the execution of projects such as "Benidorm Smart Beach" . p>
Likewise, the improvements introduced in the Tourist Info of the Torrejó, include an electronic queue management system to minimize the waiting time and have a record of the number of attentions. Likewise, a rest or waiting area has been set up with armchairs and tables, and a stand that allows visitors to consult brochures, publications, specialized press, etc. and enjoy a free wifi service and mobile recharge. p>
In parallel, a virtual tourist information office has been installed, located on the facade of the Tourist Info Center, consisting of a tactile tourist information point in which not only information can be consulted, but also offers the option Shipping & nbsp; the documentation to the user's email. p>
This digitalization allows a greater knowledge of the tourist through the technological trail in an anonymous form, generating an information susceptible to cross with other data that the city possesses, thus knowing, in a more precise way, the needs of tourists and being able to offer services more suited to their demands. p>
The implementation of this package of improvements in digital services coincides with the celebration of World Tourism Day tomorrow and that UNWTO has convened under the theme "Tourism and Digital Transformation". In Benidorm it is commemorated with an institutional act that will take place tomorrow from 12 noon in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall where the "Ciudad de Benidorm" Tourism Awards will be presented.
In this edition the prizes have gone, previous approval of the board of speakers, in the German tour operator TUI Group, Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH) and Sunsea Travel agency in the International, National and Local categories respectively. In addition a special mention is granted to the University Institute of Tourism Research of the University of Alicante and will proceed to the delivery of SICTED distinctions of tourist quality to local companies.
