Benidorm hosts the solidary Swimming Crossing 'Retro por vosotros : Francisco and Daniel'
In less time than expected, they have swum the 40 kilometers that separate Alicante's El Postiguet beach and Benidorm's Poniente beach, the four protagonists of the solidarity journey "I challenge for you: Francisco and Daniel". The objective of this initiative, with which the Sports Department of Benidorm has collaborated and organized the Brotons Group, has been to raise funds to acquire a crane chair that facilitates daily life at home to two brothers afflicted by Menkes disease, a pathology that affects your locomotor system.
The four swimmers threw themselves into the sea last night and during the early hours of the morning and part of the morning they carried out an hour relay to complete the crossing. Upon arrival at Poniente beach, they were greeted with applause by the brothers Francisco and Daniel, friends and family, the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer; the Councilor for Works, José Ramón González de Zárate; the president of Benidorm Disabled Association (Asmibe), Mª Agripina Fernández; as well as by the swimmers who participated in the morning mini-crossings of 300 and 500 meters with which funds have been raised for Asmibe and Ahedysia. Members of the corporation and neighbors participated in this solidary day at Poniente Beach.
