Benidorm hosts the first conference about Hotel Industry Sustainability and Social Responsibility
On Wednesday 27th in the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council will host the first Conference on Hotel Sustainability and Social Responsibility promoted and organized by 'Pedro Zaragoza Orts' Chair in Tourism Studies sponsored by Benidorm City Council, the Costa Blanca Tourist Board , Tourism of the Valencian Community, HOSBEC and Benidorm Tourism Foundation.
The work sessions will focus on Sustainable Development Goals number 5, 6, 7 and 8 and the hotel sustainability factor. Water, energy, work and gender equality, you will be the backbone of the working groups that will deal with issues related to affordable and non-polluting energy, clean water and sanitation, decent work to ensure economic growth, based on aspects of equality of gender seeking excellence under the premise that being sustainable today is leading tomorrow in this immense world of tourism.
The primary objective is to publicize the opportunities of sustainable tourism focused on the hotel segment, where Benidorm exercises its leadership, focusing on three thematic blocks to share experiences, develop knowledge and focus on Social Responsibility policies in terms of income, employment and impacts. environmental, economic and social. The last block will deal with the enhancement of certifications to comply with international standards in terms of sustainability for the positioning of hotels.
The panel of speakers is nourished by university experts from the universities of Alicante and Surrey, responsible for quality and certifications from organizations and institutions, consultants and hotels, as well as from the Spanish Network for Sustainable Development.
At the closing, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, will be accompanied by the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer.
