Benidorm hosts the Congress of the Provincial Federation of Housewives and Consumers ‘Lucentum’
Today and tomorrow, Benidorm will again host the congress organised annually by the Provincial Federation of Consumer, User and Housewife Associations of the province of Alicante, ‘Lucentum’, which is held at the city’s Meliá Hotel and brings together more than 60 attendees from the province’s boards of directors. This is a congress that, as explained by the president of the federation, Soledad Morales, “has been held for thirty years.”
The mayor, Toni Pérez, opened the event and welcomed them, accompanied by the Councillor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí. Pérez said he was “delighted that you are here with a great interest in current issues.” He told them “Your work is very positive” and congratulated them for their “defence of consumers and users.” The mayor also said, “The great work you do in the federation represents 50,000 women in the province of Alicante alive”.
The congress programme began with a talk by Andrés Pedreño on ‘Artificial Intelligence. New goals’. In the afternoon, the federation’s book ‘Sabor a Fiesta’ will be presented, and at 17:15 the second presentation on 'Cyberscams, protection in the Digital Age' by Fabián Gascón.
Tomorrow at 10:30 a talk by Cuque González, a sociologist and therapist, on ‘Women and social welfare’. At 12:45, a workshop by Ofelia Ripoll, a specialist in the procedure for violence against women, on ‘Association management’ and at 13:45 the closing ceremony of the congress which will end with a meal for the attendees.
