Benidorm hosts a conference on the future of employment in tourism organized by UGT (General Union of Workers' Unions)

Benidorm acoge una jornada sobre el futuro del empleo en el turismo organizada por UGT

Benidorm City Hall Assembly Hall hosted a conference organised this Friday by the Federation of Services, Mobility, and Consumer Affairs of the UGT (FeSMC-UGT) to mark the International Tourism Day tomorrow, September 27th. The conference, held under the theme "Future of work in tourism: dignity, sustainability, and social dialogue," was opened by Juan Díaz, Councillor for the Presidency, Transparency, and Communication of the Benidorm City Council, and brought together representatives from unions, institutions, companies, and organisations in the sector.

Speakers included Cristina Matías, Secretary General of FeSMC-UGT País Valencià; Antonio Oviedo, Secretary General of FeSMC-UGT; Cristina Escoda, Councillor and spokesperson for the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) on Benidorm City Council; and Tino Calero, Secretary General of UGT-PV. In addition, a panel discussion on the tourism sector and employment was held, with the participation of Hosbec's general secretary, Nuria Montes; José García, the general secretary of FeSMC UGT-IB; and Sergio Oses, sector director of Hospitality and Tourism at FeSMC UGT. The discussion was moderated by Carmen Reina, sector secretary of Hospitality and Tourism at FeSMC UGT-CV.

At the closing ceremony, Lola Navarro, the union's deputy general secretary, highlighted the importance of access to housing and the union's actions.
