Benidorm expresses its condemnation for the latest sexist crime committed in A Coruña on an 80-year-old woman
The municipal corporation of Benidorm today expressed its condemnation with a minute of silence at Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España for the last confirmed sexist crime committed against a woman in A Coruña on December 1.
The woman was 80 years old and had reduced mobility. According to the investigation, she was murdered by her husband, an 88-year-old man, who also took her life. The bodies of both were found in her home by a relative, who notified the Civil Guard.

With this new victim, the number of women murdered by their partners or ex-partners in Spain so far this year has risen to 54 and 1,237 since 2003, the date on which victims of violence against women began to be counted.
The Department of Equality recalls that Benidorm City Council has personnel specialized in gender violence to provide free advice to any woman who feels threatened. Likewise, it reiterates once again that the victims have the free telephone number 016, which leaves no trace on the telephone bill, although it is advisable to delete it from the mobile call log.
