The Street Cleaning department reminds homeowners associations that if they are going to empty their pools they can call the City Council or FCC to collect the water and use it for cleaning
Benidorm empties the municipal swimming pool at Palau d’Esports for maintenance work and the water will be reused for cleaning
The Department of Street Cleaning of Benidorm City Council, as in previous years, has proceeded to empty the municipal swimming pool of the Palau d’Esports L’Illa de Benidorm to carry out maintenance work and then use the water in the daily cleaning of the streets of the city, as reported by the Councillor for Street Cleaning, Luis Navarro. A task that was carried out yesterday.
In the same way as on previous occasions, the water from the pool basins will be used to clean the streets for about ten days. This task is carried out every year at the end of August to undertake maintenance tasks in the pool “while ensuring the maximum use of water” Navarro specified. The two pool basins add up to more than 400,000 litres of water.
The councillor has taken the opportunity to appeal to the homeowners associations who intend to empty their pools at the end of summer for reasons of repairs, leaks, etc. "so that instead of pouring it directly into the sewer, they should inform the City Council or FCC so that they can collect that water and use it for cleaning."
