Incorporating the areas of Health, Safety and Emergencies and Social Welfare, the managing entity DTI enters the phase of aligning actions with the challenges set

Benidorm DTI + secure work plan ends its second week

15 May 2020
El plan de trabajo Benidorm DTI+seguro culmina su segunda semana

Benidorm City Council continues, according to the calendar announced on May 7, with the process of redefining its DTI Master Plan, adapting it to the socio-economic reality that the Covid-19 health crisis has accrued, to promote measures that support the social fabric and business this year and reach 2021 reinforced.

In his presentation to the Media, Mayor Toni Pérez announced that it was a plan that was going to be developed in 7 weeks and that it was to last for 7 months, with the aim, he explained, of "generating confidence" and " health safety ”between the local population and national tourism, at least in a first phase, waiting for the international markets to revive.

Previously, the plan had been presented to the spokespersons of the political groups and developed in its detailed explanation by the management of Visit Benidorm and the Smart Tourism Team. "All the groups," stressed Toni Pérez, "know the plan and the dates."

"The municipal government," he insisted, "is in permanent contact with all the professional organizations in Benidorm and develops an action plan to win the future."

Toni Pérez stressed that "the performance schedule faithfully follows its timing, which all groups are aware of, and the second week of work is now ending in which new municipal areas have joined the Entity Manager DTI". These are the Health, Safety and Emergency and Social Welfare areas.

At this time, and facing next week, the third, the work will focus on aligning the planned actions with the challenges set, such as giving trust among tourists and residents and articulating the Smart Office DTI to develop the scoreboard and the control panel adapted to the new crisis scenario. It is key to measure, stressed the mayor, "the territorial impact to unify and transfer adequate information for citizens and tourists during the travelling."

Starting on May 25, in the fourth week of the program, webinars will be held with the sectors, which will continue as early as the beginning of June, the fifth week, in line with the citizen participation campaign that will last until the middle of June. It will be, from June 15, the seventh week when the plan is presented, which the mayor Toni Pérez has already indicated would be "replicable and scalable to any other destination."

As announced to the spokespersons of the groups with representation in the Consistory and to the public, through the Media, it is a plan that will be developed in 7 weeks to schedule performances for the next 7 months. In this sense, Toni Pérez has insisted that "we act in time and form with the adopted dates and we are going to give participation to the entire social, business and neighborhood fabric". The plan, he recalled, "was born to continue positioning Benidorm in tourism leadership."
