Benidorm contributes 8,000 euros to help organise Beniardà festivities
Benidorm City Council will contribute 8,000 euros to help organise the Beniardà patron saint festivities, which will be held at the beginning of next August in honour of the Mare de Déu dels Dolors. The Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Mayor of Beniardá, Rafaela Llorens, signed today the collaboration agreement between the two municipalities, in an event that was also attended by the Councillor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros.
This agreement recognises the solidarity of Beniardà during the severe drought of 1978, which allowed surveys to be carried out in its municipal area to find the water resources that Benidorm needed. A gesture that guaranteed the supply of water to the population and tourism in times of greatest scarcity.
For this reason, as a token of gratitude, Benidorm City Council is allocating a small part of its budget for the events and activities within the framework of the Beniardà Patron Saint Festivities which, as in previous years, will amount to 8,000 euros.
