Benidorm ‘confesses’ to Miss Beige
Two hammocks: one for her and one for anyone who wants to play, share confidences or simply sit and let everything flow. Miss Beige, a character created and represented by the artist Ana Esmith, passed through Benidorm yesterday to put into action 'Secretos de hamaca', a participatory 'performance' that brought together dozens of people in Plaça del Castell and that raised great expectations among those who came across it, by surprise, on their visit to this iconic enclave of the city.
Hand in hand with the ‘Benidorm Expone’ initiative of the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage, directed by Ana Pellicer, for an hour and a half Miss Beige ‘confessed’ - without a word - to everyone who lay down next to her. Dressed in her beige vintage dress, matching shoes and a handbag from which her inseparable hammer protruded, Miss Beige listened, observed, reaffirmed, disapproved, was amazed, applauded, imitated and attended to the occurrences of her hammock companions, among whom were many and many unconditional fans of her actions, who knows her by her 'performances' or photographs, which have gone viral on Instagram.
Admirer of Benidorm, previously Miss Beige had chosen the city as the setting for some of her photographs and representations, but yesterday's was her participatory performance in the town.
