Benidorm City Hall grants for the establishment of new companies

17 May 2017
El Ayuntamiento de Benidorm concede ayudas para la implantación de nuevas empresas

There is still a remaining of 16,000 to deal with applications submitted during 2017

Benidorm City Council has delivered during the month of May grants to nine entrepreneurial projects in which it has invested 3,800 euros for economic promotion and job creation.

The Councilor for Employment, María Jesús Pinto said that these grants consist of a maximum of 500 euros for those entrepreneurs who process the opening license in the City of Benidorm, or 350 applicants who are established as self-employed, without needing a establishment in which to exercise the activity.

"We are aware," said María Jesús Pinto, "of the need to encourage the start-up of new employment-generating activities". That is why this type of assistance aims to "take a step forward in our work to support new entrepreneurs ". This stimulus to entrepreneurship will be strengthened, said the councillor, "with new training activities in collaboration with the various business associations of the city and other institutions."

During this year, the City Council has promoted local entrepreneurs with grants that add 9,000 euros. There are 5,000 more in study, pending payment of other applications that are still under study. This means that the Department of Employment has 16,000 euros more to deal with applications that are submitted before the end of the 2017 exercise.

To access the aid for the implementation of new businesses must be registered in the municipality and enrolled in the Special Scheme of Self-Employed Social Security Workers. Those not registered can apply to benefit from this program if they request the opening of a local located in the municipality. Those interested can obtain more information at the Employment and Local Development Agency (AEDL) of Benidorm City Council, http://www.benidorm.org/ayuntamiento/concejalias/empleo.
