Benidorm celebrates the XVIII Festa de la Solidaritat

11 September 2018
Benidorm celebra la XVIII Festa de la Solidaritat

The Association of Penyes of Benidorm launches for the second time this year, 'Festa de la Solidaritat', a solidarity activity that reaches the eighteenth edition and will take place next Tuesday September 18 at Casa del Fester in Benidorm, next to the Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community with the collaboration of the Department of Fiestas.

As a novelty, the members of the clubs in addition to making blood donations, may also make donations of food and marrow. All of them will receive as a gift a bracelet as a donor and will participate in the draw for a weekend for 4 people in Pierre & Vacances accommodation in Spain.

In order to participate in this 'Festa de la Solidaritat', it must be between the ages of 18 and 65. It is advisable to have breakfast normally and come well hydrated. Once the donation has been made, the participants will receive solid food and liquid and will remain for a few minutes under observation. In addition, they can take a backpack in solidarity (while supplies last) and participate in the draw for a weekend in hotels throughout Spain. The Casa del Fester will open its doors to the Transfusion Center from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm in the morning, and in the afternoon from 16.30 to 21.30.

The councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; the president of the Association of Clubs, Dani Luque; the head of the municipal Health Department, Francisco Pérez Candel; and the promoter of the transfusion center for the Marinas, Paca Ferrer, have presented this morning an initiative that "was born in Benidorm 17 years ago - said Carrobles - and that today is a benchmark in the entire region" that "has been exported" to other localities such as Alcoi or Villena in which their members of the Fiesta organize, like in Benidorm, solidarity parties of blood donation.

The councilman of Fiestas has recognized the solidarity effort of the members of the clubs in Benidorm and has encouraged all citizens "whether they are members or not" to participate again in 'Festa de la Solidaridad' after the success of the month of May and reach a new record "as in everything this year that is organized by the Association of Clubs and we can give blood to help others."
