Benidorm has celebrated this morning the I 'Jane's Walk Benidorm', an activity that takes place annually during the first weekend of May in many cities and this year the tourist city has joined the main EDUSI areas of Benidorm. Her name honors urban activist and writer Jane Jacobs.
The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, accompanied by the councillor of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, the councilman of Sports Arturo Cabrillo and several members of the municipal corporation have wanted to accompany fifty residents, tourists and representatives of neighborhood associations and social groups such as Els Tolls or Asmibe, who have gathered at 10.00 am in Els Ametlers Park to travel the marked route to l'Hort de Colón.
During this first edition of 'Jane's Walk Benidorm' citizens have been able to check the initiatives carried out by Benidorm City Council related to Environment, Sustainability and Accessibility, walking through the main roads through which EDUSI runs and contributing initiatives to improve the city, prioritizing the figure of the pedestrian.
The route in this first edition has gone through Italia Street, Els Tolls forest, La Granota promenade, Polideportivo and Foietes Park and the pedestrian zone of Tomas Ortuño until arriving at l'Hort de Colón.
