Benidorm celebrates with the Civil Guard the festivity of Virgen del Pilar
The Civil Guard of Benidorm has celebrated its festivity today, the Virgen del Pilar. The events began at 12:00 noon with the celebration of a Mass in the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Almudena, in Colonia Madrid district. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, and representatives of different municipal groups attended the religious ceremony together with the senator from Alicante, Agustín Almodóbar and the regional deputy, Manuel Pérez Fenoll.
Among the attendees, the presidents of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals and the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge', Paco Marín and Dani Luque; the queens of the fiestas, Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo. Likewise, the Chief of the Local Police, Juan Fuertes and the Chief Commissioner of the National Police Force in Benidorm, Antonio Selva, accompanied the Civil Guard in this day.
After the religious act, the first corporal of the Intervention of Weapons and Explosives, Carlos Cuadros, took the floor to remember the agents of the body fallen in service or those who, due to illness, were unable to participate in the act. Cuadros reviewed the history of the Body, founded in 1844 and its "commitment to the defense of freedom and the Law". After the intervention, the members of the Civil Guard interpreted their hymn.
