Hundreds of people of all ages tour the streets of the city on a festive and healthy day
Benidorm celebrates the 40th edition of the 'Bicycle Day' with great participation

This Sunday, May 4th, Benidorm celebrated the 40th annual "Bicycle Day," an event organised by the Department of Sports which has become a landmark event in the city's sports and leisure calendar.
Starting at 9:30 a.m., hundreds of cyclists—families, children, young people, and adults—began to gather at Foietes Park, the starting point for this event that unites sport, sustainability, and coexistence. Before the start of the ride, the Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, greeted the attendees, accompanied by the Councillor for Sports, Javier Jordá, other members of the municipal council, and the regional representative, José Ramón González de Zárate.
At 10:00 a.m., the race began, covering approximately 7.2 kilometres along the avenues Rey Jaime I, Armada Española, Vicente Llorca Alós, Paseo de Tamarindos, and returning to the starting point, after a stop in between to regroup the peloton.
After the ride, refreshments were provided to the participants and the traditional bicycle raffle was held, the most anticipated moment of the morning. Trophies were presented by Javier Jordá, who participated in the race along with other colleagues from the company.
The activity took place in an atmosphere marked by joy, camaraderie, and the promotion of bicycle use as a sustainable and healthy means of transportation that is especially suited to the urban layout of Benidorm.
