Benidorm calls a minute of silence for the woman murdered on Monday in La Bisbal del Penedès
Benidorm City Council has called this afternoon a minute of silence to condemn the murder of a woman, on Monday April 26, in La Bisbal del Penedès (Tarragona). With the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí leading the municipal corporation wanted to protest once again against this social scourge.
The 50-year-old woman has allegedly been murdered by her partner, 37, who had a history of gender-based violence with a previous partner. After the confirmation of the case by the Ministry of Equality, there are already 8 women who have lost their lives in 2021 due to sexist violence and 1,086 those who have done so since 2003, the year in which data began to be collected.
The Department of Equality reminds potential victims and their surroundings of the existence of the free telephone against gender violence, 016, which leaves no trace on the telephone bill (although it is convenient to delete it from the mobile phone call log). Number that attends 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In the event of any emergency, you can also call 112, for emergencies or the National Police numbers, 091; or of the Civil Guard, 062.
