The installation will be completed before the end of this month and is being carried out under the budget modification approved in June
Benidorm begins the installation of a new children's zip line in Els Tolls neighborhood
The Department of Parks and Gardens of Benidorm City Council has begun the installation of a children's zip line in the green area located in the area formed by Avenida Bélgica, Avenida del Municipi and Calle Beata María Sufragio Orts. The new children's installation will be completed in two or three weeks, according to the councillor José Ramón González de Zárate, who visited the site this morning to check the start of the work.
The zip line will involve an investment of around 25,000 euros, according to the councillor, who specified that the money will come from the budget modification approved in a plenary session last June to take advantage of the treasury surpluses from the previous year. "It must be remembered that the socialist group voted against that modification, so if it had been up to them, the neighbourhood would not have this zip line," said González de Zárate.
According to the head of Parks and Gardens, this is “an important project that we are carrying out for the children” and he has recalled in this regard that “we are installing zip lines in all the neighbourhoods”. Thus, there are already ones in Elche Park, two in La Cala, another in Rincón de Loix, another in Foietes Colonia Madrid and now in Els Tolls. “This attraction will complement very well the swings that are a few metres below” the councillor has specified. The installation will cover some 20 metres in length, although the zip line itself will be 14 metres long.
It will be located just one hundred metres from Puig Campana and Els Tolls schools and close to Les Fontanelles Nursery School. “We believe that it is an ideal place to put it and it will be a great success” concluded González de Zárate.
