Benidorm, awarded in the National Be Active Awards of the Higher Sports Council

The city of Benidorm has been awarded in a new edition of the National Be Active Awards, convened by the Higher Sports Council within the framework of the European Sports Week and with which the entities that work for the promotion of physical activity and good eating habits among the population.
During a gala held at the Higher Sports Council in Madrid, the mayor, Toni Pérez, has received today from the president of this body, José Manuel Franco, the second prize in the category of Spanish cities of 20,001 100,000 inhabitants. Prior to the gala, the mayor together with the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, and representatives of the Higher Sports Council participated in a guided tour of the facilities of the Madrid High Performance Center.
In addition to the corresponding trophy, Benidorm has received a #BEACTIVE! Banner. to be placed in its sports facilities, thus giving visibility to the city's commitment to promoting sports activity and healthy lifestyles.
When determining the national award, the jury appointed by the Higher Sports Council has valued the content, scope and impact on social networks of the video presented by the City Council, which includes the different sports modalities that are practiced in the city, while taking a tour of the municipal sports facilities and the bay of Benidorm, an ideal natural resource for practicing nautical disciplines.
The mayor has pointed out that “Benidorm has high-level sports facilities, in a constant process of improvement and expansion of facilities, as well as a natural environment and unbeatable urban public spaces for sports; two characteristics that together with an enviable climate throughout the year make the city an attractive destination not only for local athletes, but also for professionals, clubs and national and international federations who choose Benidorm for their training sessions, tests or competitions ”.
In addition to Benidorm, the province of Alicante has been present at these Be Active awards by the hand of Bigastro and La Nucia, awarded in the category of towns with up to 20,000 inhabitants.
