Benidorm asks the Generalitat that the investment announced for the cultural center is "a first phase and not the only one"
The government informs the Board Spokespersons about the meeting with the SPTCV to outline the agreement that reactivates the works
It is also requested that the premises of the future conservatory to be ratified and that all facades are completed
Benidorm Town Council has proposed to those responsible for the Society of Valencian Thematic Projects (SPTCV) to introduce a series of changes in the draft agreement of the cultural center drafted by the Valencian government, in which the conditions will be set to materialize the investment of 12 million announced by the president of the Generalitat Valenciana.
In a meeting of spokespersons, the mayor, Toni Pérez, has transferred to the groups of the corporation the proposal made by the local government to the SPTCV last week, at a meeting attended by the general director of the society, Antonio Rodes . This proposal takes into account the reports made by the departments of Secretary and Intervention, that have been reiterated today during the meeting of the Board of Spokespersons.
Pérez explained that the proposal of the local government is based on three premises. First, that the 12 million euros announced are "a first phase of investment and not the only one", since with that money only a percentage of the facilities will be completed. The purpose of the City Council is that "in 2018 we will have a series of endowments that can be put into operation at full capacity", so that subsequently - "once we have overcome the economic situation that the Generalitat transfers to us" - the parties "we can sit To achieve the goal marked: the completion of the building.
The second premise has to do with the facilities to be implemented. The mayor has stressed that "we are sympathetic" and "we make common cause" with the Generalitat by assuming that with this initial investment do not run many of the endowments and services provided in the original project of the cultural center, which does not prevent "Those that are finished are completed in full". Thus, he pointed out that it is necessary that "Conservatories of Music and Dance meet the requirements of approval required by the Ministry of Education," so that in the new facilities can be taught at least the same degrees as in the current.
Third, the municipal proposal is that "the four facades of the building are completed," since the proposed agreement only includes partial completion.
The mayor has assured that the City Council will work with "maximum dialogue and maximum loyalty" to reach an agreement with the SPTCV that allows the resumption of works and their materialization is the best for citizens and the general interest . He was also satisfied that "most of the groups of the corporation" have given "approval" to the proposed changes in the agreement raised by the City Council.
