Benidorm approves the first remittance for the creation of new companies worth 24,400 euros
The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council has approved the first round of municipal aid to promote the creation of new companies and entrepreneurial projects throughout 2023, the financial amount worth up to 24,400 euros. The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, explained that these contributions are part of the line of aid launched last August by the City Council for a total amount of 80,000 euros and have advanced that in this first resolution, they have been a The total number of new companies benefited is 25, which have received between 800 and 1,200 euros as support for starting their business activity.
Mónica Gómez recalled that the objective of these subsidies is to “promote economic activity and job creation in our city”, either through entrepreneurs who have established themselves in the last year as self-employed workers with tax domicile in Benidorm and are registered in the town or with people who are not registered but who have registered as self-employed, with tax domicile in the city and have processed an opening license at Benidorm City Council between October 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023, having also started its economic activity between these dates.
Regarding the business projects that will receive this aid, the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion explained that, in this first remittance, various activities and services are covered, which shows that "the business fabric of Benidorm is alive and is constantly evolving.”
Likewise, Mónica Gómez has reported that the technical commission in charge of evaluating all applications will meet in the coming weeks to continue studying the proposals presented that are still pending resolution.
It is worth remembering that last year there were a total of 75 entrepreneurial projects that received this municipal aid, for which a total amount of 74,000 euros was allocated. Given this high number of aid granted, the Local Government Board agreed in this new edition of 2023, at the proposal of the Councilor for Employment, to double the amount initially planned, going from the 40,000 euros reserved in previous years to a total of 80,000 for this year. Mónica Gómez has pointed out, however, that as has happened in previous editions, this budget "will be modulated according to the needs to try to meet the greatest number of requests possible", which in the opinion of the councillor reflects "the sensitivity and commitment of this government for the local productive fabric and entrepreneurship.”
