Benidorm approves the basic project of Rincón de Loix health center on Monday

The Local Government Board (JGL) approves next Monday, June 7, the basic construction project of Rincón de Loix health center; point that has been included in the Informative Commission of Urbanism for the same day summoned today, according to has informed the mayor, Toni Pérez. The City Council completes this procedure after the Department of Universal Health and Public Health has corrected the deficiencies pointed out by the municipal technicians.
Toni Pérez has indicated that "once these issues have been corrected, the City Council is in a position to approve the basic project presented by the Ministry and the latter to be able to start the works when it deems it to be."
The mayor has insisted that “for Benidorm, the new Rincón de Loix health center is a basic and much-needed health infrastructure, as we stated in the plenary session last February when, at the initiative of the municipal group of the Popular Party , we unanimously approved the request to the Consell that its construction be declared 'strategic' together with the expansion of the La Vila Joiosa regional hospital ”.
"Now - he added - we verify with satisfaction that the Consell has responded to this request, by including both infrastructures in the 'Crèixer +' Plan, thus corroborating that the request we made months ago at the proposal of this government team was correct and very pertinent ”.
Toni Pérez has stressed that "if the new health center and the expansion of the hospital were necessary before the pandemic, during the same they have been revealed even more urgent and cannot be postponed", because "we must ensure that the entire population of Benidorm and the region has access to the best health care with correctly infrastructures ”.
After the approval of the basic project, the Department must provide the execution project, an essential condition to obtain the building license. When this process is completed, the construction of the new health center may begin, which has a maximum execution period of 16 months.
Toni Pérez recalled that the new health center, which appears in the successive Budgets of the Generalitat since 2018, will be located on Zamora street number 5, on a 3,558 square meter plot donated by the City Council next to the football fields' Antonio López '.
