Benidorm and Ecovidrio join forces to encourage the recycling of glass during the local Festivities

08 November 2016
Benidorm y Ecovidrio se unen para incentivar el reciclaje de vidrio entre las peñas durante las Fiestas Patronales

The 'Peña' that recycle most glass will get a basket of products of the land valued at 700 euros

The departments of Fiestas and Environment of the City Council, l'Associació de Penyes and Ecovidrio have designed the campaign 'LaPeñaMasGlass' to encourage the recycling of glass during the Major Patron Saint Festivities that begin this weekend. The 'peña' that more glass recycle will obtain a prize, a basket of products of the land valued at 700 euros. The president of the Associació, Mariló Cebreros, explained that a relation of the 'peñas' associated with the number of members of each one has been given to Ecovidrio, so that when establishing the winner, the percentage of glass recycled in proportion to the members of the 'peña' will take into account. For the weighing of glass, the entity will install a giant scale and three containers decorated with Mr. Igloo 'fester' at the intersection of the l'Aigüera Avenue and Hondo Street. From Friday 11 to Wednesday 16 November, the members of the 'peñas' can pass through this point between 12.00 and 18.00 hours to weigh and deposit their glass containers. In this area, near the scale, there will be two monitors that will weigh the glass and will control the kilos recycled by each 'peña', while another two will visit the premises at the same time to encourage the participants to participate. This 'ecopatrol' will deliver informative leaflets to the members of the 'peñas' and 'merchandising' of the campaign. In addition, every neighbor who takes to the 'stand' three glass containers will be given a gift. The councilor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, has invited the members of yhe 'peñas' "to participate in this initiative and recycle during these days, in which very large quantities of glass are generated." During these days, the members of the 'peñas' will be able to inform themselves about the ranking of the recycling, to see photos and to consult their doubts on the web www.lapeñamasglass.es.
