‘Angels merge into matter, an exhibition to commemorate‘ Pride ’

03 September 2019
‘Los ángeles se funden en la materia, una exposición para conmemorar el ‘Orgullo’

On the occasion of the celebration of the ninth edition of Benidorm Pride Festival, the departments of Equality and Culture, with the collaboration of the LGBTI Association of the Marina Baixa, has scheduled the exhibition 'The angels merge in the matter' by the Argentinian based in Benidorm, Rubén Agustín Brandani, in the Espai d'Art of the Town Hall

The councilors of Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, and Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, together with the president of the LGBTI association, Chelo Oliva and the author, have participated, together with other members of the corporation and the general public, this noon, in the inaugural tour. The exhibited works have been carried out over 20 years, and with various techniques such as pencil, marker or watercolor.

Brandani's work is "introspective," said Angela Zaragozi. Works that "reflect the personality of the author and force those who contemplate them for reflection." With ‘Angels merge in the matter’, Benidorm City Council “continues to focus on the integration and visibility of all social groups” and not only during the “protest and festive” week of ‘Benidorm Pride’; or with the "classic display of the LGBTI flag on the balcony of the City Hall, on June 28", International Pride Day.

For his part, the Councilor for Culture has emphasized the effort of the City Council "in its clear commitment" to Equality. "To achieve it - he stressed - nothing better than culture, so from the Department of Culture and Equality we collaborate with LGBTI organizations in activities that give visibility to groups, opening them to society as a whole."

‘The angels merge into the matter’ will remain in Espai d’Art until September 23.
