Amas de Casa Association celebrates the end of the course in the Assembly Hall with a Music and Dance Festival
The Association of Housewives of Benidorm has celebrated the end of the course with the forty-third Festival of Song Dance and Art that took place in the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council.
With the room totally crowded, the president of the entity, Vini Pérez, has reviewed the activities carried out by the housewives during the last year. Afterwards, the choir that has played classical pieces of zarzuela (Spanish opera) and other more current acts under the baton of its director, Professor Francisco José Rovira Peretó, has acted. After the choir the members of the dance workshop took part.
Among the public, the acting mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councillors, also in functions, of Fiestas and Social Welfare, Jesús Carrobles and Ángela Llorca. Out of program and at the request of the associates, Pérez has taken the floor to thank the work done by the housewives throughout the year and has encouraged them to continue with the "important social work they do" at the service of Benidorm.
In the act also has paid tribute to the secretary of the association and director of the dance workshop, Mariló Cebreros, who will not be able to continue performing the activity after being elected as new mayor in the new municipal corporation in the Municipal Elections of the past May 26.
Although the course has already finished, the commemorative program of the Housewives of Benidorm continues with the exhibition of workshops, until June 14, at the Hort de Colón, and during all the Wednesdays in June. On the 12th, at Casa del Fester, there will be a talk by César Evangelio about the Holy Chalice of the Cathedral of Valencia in Benidorm. On the 19th, it will be the day of the traditional brotherhood meal at the Yacht Club. Finally, on the 26th, the housewives will visit the NATO facilities in Bétera (Valencia).
