About 1,000 runners have participated this Sunday in the 10 Kilometers Love Benidorm, test of 'running' that have started at 10.00 from the Plaza SSMM Kings of Spain and that has traveled the avenue of the Mediterranean, the first line of the beach of Levante and some streets of the Rincón de Loix before returning again to the Plaza de SSMM Reyes de España, where the goal has been installed. The Councilor for Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, has been in charge of giving the starting signal for the race, which the first runners have completed in less than 33 minutes and which has had a very high participation of foreign athletes.

Mounir Hassani - runner Sub 23 - and Leila Amoush have dominated the men's and women's event, with a time of 0:32:06 and 0:36:58 respectively. They have also climbed to the men's podium in absolute category Mouhamed Boucetta (CA Albacete) and Youssef Ahatach (Dianium Balearia). In women, Sophie Wood (Royton Road Runners) and Carmen Sala Ferrer (Dorsal 19 Pego) crossed the line in second and third place.

With regard to the local runners, the first to complete the test was Juan Antonio Férnandez Cantos, of the Athletics Club Benidorm, who has finished fourth in the general classification with a time of 0:33:34. Aitor Cabezas and Antonio Tirado, both also from CA Benidorm, have completed the podium in the local category.

The first benidormense to cross the finish line was Sonia Tirado, followed by a time of 0:42:26, ​​followed by Cristina Gómez and Nancy Van Zullem.

In addition, this edition of the 10K Love Benidorm has also recognized the clubs with greater participation in the test. A podium that has been a reflection of the important participation of international runners, since the first and second drawer have been for two foreign clubs: Running Crazy and the Jogging Team of Olifant. The CA Benidorm was the third with the highest number of runners ..

The Councilor for Sports; the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer; and the spokesman for the government team, José Ramón González de Zárate; they were in charge of delivering the trophies in the different categories, together with the organizer of the event, José Brotons.

At the end of the 10K, after noon, the 'Kids Run Love Benidorm' was held, a complementary test in which the youngest runners, children between 2 and 15 years old, participated.

The next big event of the 'running' in Benidorm will be the Half Marathon, which in 2018 will open in March, the 3rd, and will have the peculiarity of developing at dusk.
