The Departments of Social Welfare and Equality of Benidorm aspire to obtain the help of the Regional Governmet again to reissue the course

80% of the students of the 'Social health care for dependent people' course continue training or already work in the sector

El 80% de las alumnas del curso de ‘Atención sociosanitaria a personas dependientes’ siguen formándose o trabajan ya en el sector

80% of the students who participated in the 'Social health care for dependent people' course organized by Benidorm City Council have continued training in this area or have entered the labour market, according to data provided today by the Councilor for Social Welfare and Equality, Ángela Zaragozí. A course in its first edition had a subsidy of 2,456.41 euros from the Second Vice Presidency and Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing.

Zaragozí indicated that “given the results obtained, and once it has been verified that the objectives that we set for ourselves when we proposed and promoted this course have been more than met, the intention is to launch a second edition and for this, we are going to request the support of the Valencian government.”

At this point, the councillor recalled that "this is a pioneering job training course for socio-health care for dependent people, with which to expand the possibilities of access to the labour market for the participants, which in the first edition “They were women beneficiaries of the Valencian Inclusion Income or other financial aid.”

Zaragozí highlighted that “we are talking about a sector in which there is a great demand for qualified professionals”, and hence “once they passed the course and the relevant entrance test, seven students have decided to continue training to obtain the Level 2 Professional Certificate.”

This professional certificate, obtained after completing and passing 450 training hours, allows you to “opt to work in residences, day centres and other institutions and facilities that provide social-health and care services, thus expanding your scope of insertion.”

Another nine students, the councillor has stated, entered the labour market after completing the municipal course and obtaining their certification.
