The commemorative coupon and stamp will also be presented.

The mayor highlights the involvement of the groups and individuals who make up the committee, as well as "other entities that have made contributions to enhance this celebration"

The Committee responsible for organising the celebration of Benidorm's 700th Anniversary has already outlined the schedule of commemorative events that will take place from tomorrow, Wednesday, April 23rd, until May 18th. Mayor Toni Pérez explained that "the weeks leading up to and following the anniversary will focus on a large part of the events commemorating the founding of Benidorm on May 8th, 1325."

Toni Pérez explained that "when scheduling these events, we have gathered suggestions and contributions from the various organizations and individuals who have submitted their proposals to the '700th Anniversary Committee'; the President has analyzed these proposals, the committee's coordinators, and the technical secretariat at various meetings." These events, he specified, "are in addition to the work carried out by the City Council to raise awareness of the 700th anniversary nationwide, which has resulted in the issuance of a commemorative ONCE coupon and a postal stamp." The first will be presented this week at El Castell, and the second will be given on May 8th.

This calendar, presented today, includes, among other activities, theatrical performances, an exhibition, several concerts, workshops, and talks open to the public, as well as various outreach activities. Specifically, this Wednesday, an outreach campaign will be launched on municipal media: tecnohito, digital muppis, and screens in public buildings. The ONCE coupon will be presented on Thursday, and over the weekend, a social media campaign will be held to coincide with the "Acampada de les Penyes" celebrations.

The first musical event will be on May 3rd at 7:00 PM, with the Unión Musical, which will offer a concert at the Cultural Centre. On May 5th, at 4:30 pm, the conferences, talks, performances, and informative and educational workshops on the founding of Benidorm will begin. These workshops, promoted by the Teacher Training Service (Cefire), also include various activities on May 6th and 9th. Also on May 5th, an exhibition of documents related to the Town Charter will open and remain open until October 9th at the Boca del Calvari Museum.

On May 6th and 7th, students from the Ausiàs March Primary School will perform a theatrical performance about the Charter of the Town for students from various schools in the city, both in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall and at the Bernat de Sarrià Secondary School.

On May 8th, the day Benidorm was founded, the commemorative event will include the presentation of the official stamp issued by the Post Office and the institutional ceremony commemorating Benidorm Day, at 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., both in the Municipal Plenary Hall. In addition, at 8:30 p.m., the farce "Pudo sucede" (It Could Happen) will be performed in the Assembly Hall of the Diego Cano Enguera Festival Hall.

On Saturday, May 10th, Plaça de Sant Jaume will host a performance of the Carta Pobla (Pobla Charter) by the Carta de Poblament Group of the Verge del Sofratge Association of Penyes. The performance will take place at 9:30 p.m., and on this occasion, it will also include musical accompaniment by a group of ancient musical instruments.

The following day, on Sunday, May 11, a concert by the Societat Musical l’Illa de Benidorm will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Cultural Centre Auditorium. Finally, on Sunday, May 18, at 8:00 p.m., the Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna will host another concert; this time, featuring the Capella de Ministrers.

During today's Commission meeting in the Plenary Hall, the Mayor thanked the groups and individuals who make up this body "for their involvement" and "for the proposals they have put forward to enhance this celebration"; and he extended this recognition to other entities outside the commission that "along the same lines, have also contributed their part to this commemoration, so significant for Benidorm."
