'La Barqueta' has delivered this afternoon in the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council the awards of the fifteenth edition of its traditional School Drawing and Painting Contest. With the room packed to the rafters, the 76 young artists have been named who have won some of the prizes in this edition.

The event was attended by the first deputy mayor and responsible for Culture, Ana Pellicer and the councilor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles who have been accompanied by other members of the municipal corporation. The queens of the Festes Majors Patronals 2017, Anna Galiana and Àngela Antón; the President of the Commission, Antonio Vicente Fuster; the president of the Association of Penyes, Mariano Nájera; representatives of 'La Barqueta', led by its president, Francisco Llorens, 'Paco Rosera', and the sponsoring companies. All of them have been the ones who have distributed the prizes among the lucky winners.

On this occasion 1,937 works have been submitted to the contest from 15 schools in Benidorm. A pre-selection of the same has formed the exhibition that until Friday can be visited in the Casa del Fester and from them have been the winners of this edition.

Ana Pellicer has been very satisfied with the success obtained by 'La Barqueta' in the call of this year and has encouraged them to continue working on future editions of the contest and has assured them "total collaboration" of the City Council. Remember that the Recreational Cultural Association 'La Barqueta' has among its aims the protection and promotion of local culture and traditions, especially those related to the Finding of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge, the central theme of the contest.
