El programa interpretado por la banda local en la Plaza Mayor ha servido de homenaje a Francisco Antón ‘Picorro’
The Unión Musical concert and the Mass round off the events of March 16 in Benidorm.

This afternoon, Benidorm concluded the commemorative events for the 285th anniversary of the Discovery of the Virgin Sugragio, which had been held throughout the week. Following the Alba procession, the Benidorm Musical Union concert commemorating this anniversary took place at 11:00 a.m. at Plaza Mayor. This concert also served as a tribute to Francisco Antón "Picorro."
Conducted by Rafa Gómez Parra, the Musical Union performed a program consisting of music from "West Side Story" (L. Bernstein), "Music from Braveheart" (J. Horner), "Kung Fu Panda Selections" (H. Zimmer and J. Powell), "Titanic" (J. Horner), and "Highlights from Chess" (B. Ulvaeus and B. Andersson).
In the afternoon, high mass was celebrated in honor of the patron saint of Benidorm. This celebration was preceded by a parade from the Casa del Fester to the Church of Sant Jaume. Local authorities participated, led by Mayor Toni Pérez; regional representatives Manuel Pérez Fenoll and José Ramón González de Zárate; the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Paula Pascual and Aitana Pérez; the presidents of the Commission and the Association of Penyes (Ponyes) and numerous festive and civic organizations in the city.
