Unión Musical Choir offers a concert of sacred music as a prelude to Holy Week in Benidorm
Dozens of people enjoyed the voices of Benidorm Unión Musical Choir yesterday evening. Under the direction of Joaquín García, they offered a selection of liturgical music as a prelude to Holy Week in Benidorm. The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, accompanied the choir members and the Musical Union at this recital, along with other members of the local council.
The program featured various pieces of sacred music, some less well-known and others easily recognisable to the general public, sung either by the choir alone or with string accompaniment. All of them moved the audience equally, nearly filling the pews of the Sant Jaume i Santa Anna parish church.
Sorrano Marlene Aquino also joined the choir for a piece in the repertoire, performing "Let the Bright Seraphim," the aria from Handel's opera Samson, accompanied by Joaquín García on trumpet.
All of this allowed the audience to enjoy a unique evening filled with emotion and spirituality.
