Weekend of homage to Virgen del Rocío
'Rocío Chico' brings together in Benidorm the culture, devotion and folklore of Andalusia
Benidorm lives this weekend its 'Rocío Chico' that began at 6:00 p.m. with a sung mass in honor of the Virgen del Rocío in Almudena Parish of Colonia Madrid.
The Councilor for Festivities, Jesús Carrobles, together with other members of the Municipal Corporation and the Provincial Deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate, formed the institutional delegation that accompanied the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Rocío de Benidorm at the start of their festival. Among the attendees were the president of the entity, Juan Carlos Benavente; the Major and Child queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Aila Merenciano, and Clhoe D'Hebroodt; the president of the Commission, José Vicente Fuster; and, of course, the vice president of Casa de Andalucía, Joaquín Romero, and the queens: Elia Romero and Mayra Jiménez van der Vekken.
After the religious act, the Virgin arrived. She was moved on a pilgrimage to the tent installed in Mercasa area, where an intense weekend is already lived with music, devotion, folklore, and Andalusian gastronomy.
