The Comissió and the Associació de Penyes distribute 10,000 reusable cups donated by Coca Cola
Les Festes Majors Patronals recover the 'Healthy Festes' campaign to encourage recycling and the reduction of plastic packaging
Les Festes Majors Patronals de Benidorm will once again have a markedly sustainable character thanks to the 'Sustainable Festes' campaign launched for the fourth year by the Departments of Festivals and the Environment, with the collaboration of Coca-Cola. The campaign was presented this morning at a press conference that will take place during the days of the festivities.
The beverage company has delivered 10,000 reusable hard plastic cups so that the Comissió and the Penyes Association can distribute them among members of the Fiesta and supporters "in order to limit the use of flimsy plastic cups," said the Councilor for Fiestas Jesus Carrobles.
The councillor has highlighted "the great awareness" that has been achieved in these years to the point that "from Street Cleaning they have told us that they have detected that the decrease in the number of glasses that are collected on the street is noticeable."
The Councilor for the Environment, Mónica Gómez, also thanked the collaboration of Coca-Cola and Les Festes "because this shows the commitment of the city, the people and the hotel industry with sustainability and recycling". "With campaigns like this we reduce the consumption of plastic, so we encourage you to continue on this path of caring for the planet and having a sustainable city."
Finally, Fernando Álvarez, head of Communication, Sustainability and Public Affairs at Coca-Cola, explained that the company "always tries to be close to cities like Benidorm, collaborating on as many initiatives and campaigns as we can" while highlighting the company's commitment "with everything related to sustainability and the reduction of plastic packaging". “For us, it is very important” he has concluded.
