INCIBE brings an interactive experience to Benidorm to educate the public on cybersecurity

29 July 2025
El INCIBE trae a Benidorm una experiencia interactiva para formar a la población en ciberseguridad

The bullring's open area has been hosting the National Cybersecurity Institute's (INCIBE) Roadshow Experience since Tuesday. This initiative aims to educate the public on cybersecurity through activities and games that teach them how to choose secure passwords, identify mobile phone fraud or scams, and control the amount of time spent using electronic devices, especially among children and young people.

The Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, visited this space today with several local government councillors. Among them were the Councillors for Innovation, Aida García Mayor, and Education, Maite Moreno, as well as a group of children currently participating in the Summer School organised by FAMPA Marina Baixa in collaboration with Benidorm City Council.

These children were able to enjoy the different spaces that make up this Roadshow Experience. Inside, located inside a deployable truck, visitors were able to play in the gamification area with training platforms and online games on cybersecurity. In addition, an exhibition space featured short training talks and workshops on digital protection and good internet practices. This experience was rounded out with an escape room in which participants had to identify and overcome various digital challenges and risks.

In the outdoor area, attendees were also able to participate in interactive games and access booth 017, an information point where they could make confidential inquiries to INCIBE's Cybersecurity Helpline.

The Councillor for Innovation explained that this initiative was possible thanks to the collaboration between Benidorm City Council and the National Cybersecurity Institute, an entity dependent on the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure. She also emphasised that this activity "is in line with the various programs and initiatives we promote at City Hall to improve the population's training and capacity building in new technologies, such as the digital literacy courses offered by 'Benidorm TIC' or the Office for the Elderly."

"Within this area, cybersecurity is key, and hence the suitability of this INCIBE proposal so that the population, regardless of age, is aware of the risks and tools available to them to enjoy a full and safe digital experience," the councillor added, encouraging citizens to participate.

Finally, Aida García Mayor emphasized that this activity is aimed at all ages 10 and up, and that interested parties can visit it free of charge until next Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Groups wishing to visit can register by emailing roadshow@incibe.es, indicating: name of center, company, or association; age; number of participants; preferred date and time; and contact telephone number.
