Around 300 people have attended this noon the concert of Societat Musical La Nova in honor of Santa Cecilia de Roma, patroness saint of music, whose festival is commemorated today, in Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera. An event framed within Benidorm Cultural and attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez; representatives of the three municipal groups and of the Benidormense society.
The concert, under the baton of Francisco José Rovira, has been divided into two parts. The first, of Spanish music, with ‘La Rodana, by Ferrer Ferran; ‘Danza Oriental’, by José Manuel Izquierdo; ‘A night in Granada’, by Emilio Cebrián; and ‘Tarde de Abril’, by Amando Blanquer. In the second part, La Nova has changed registers with a selection of film soundtracks: 'Highlights from La La Land', by Michael Brown; ‘Rivieren Cyclus’, by Malando and Vlak; and 'Moment for Morricone', by Johan de Meij.
Outside the program, La Nova has performed the pasodoble (Spanish dance music) Fiesta en Benidorm, by Rafael Doménech, the official anthem of the city's Festes Majors Patronals
