Benidorm City Council activates the Emergency Plan and convenes the CECOPAL (Center for Emergency Response) to coordinate services in response to the nationwide blackout

The City Council asks people to avoid unnecessary travel, avoid using lifts, and limit the use of 112 service to emergency situations

Benidorm City Council asked residents to avoid unnecessary traffic and the use of lifts. Likewise, the public has been asked to limit their use of the 112 emergency service to life-saving situations.

The City Council has activated its Emergency Plan and convened the CECOPAL (National Emergency Plan) to coordinate the management of public services while the widespread power outage that has occurred across the country since 12:30 p.m. today continues. The CECOPAL (National Emergency Plan) and the activation of the Emergency Plan were convened immediately after the Territorial Emergency Plan established by the Generalitat Valenciana for the entire Valencian Community was declared Status 1.

In the city, Local Police officers have been on duty since the outage, regulating traffic from the beginning, due to the absence of traffic lights. The City Council emphasises the need to avoid unnecessary traffic, avoid using elevators or lifts, and limit the use of the 112 service to essential situations.
