Those interested in participating can come and donate blood this afternoon, between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Casa del Fester hosts a new edition of 'Festa de la Solidaritat' (Solidarity Festival) promoted by the clubs

Benidorm Verge del Sofratge Penyes Association, in collaboration with the Valencian Community Department of Festivals and the Blood Transfusion Centre, is celebrating this Wednesday a new edition of its traditional "Festa de la Solidaritat" (Solidarity Festival), a blood donation event to help increase blood supplies and cover the needs of hospitals. The Councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, explained that "once again this year, we are inviting the community of Penyes members and residents in general to participate in this solidarity initiative," which is taking place throughout the day today at the Casa del Fester.
"Festa de la Solidaritat" (Solidarity Festival) began this morning, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and will continue in the afternoon, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mariló Cebreros stated that "we have provided ample hours to make it as easy as possible for people to participate in this initiative, the ultimate goal of which is to help save lives." She emphasised that "with one blood donation, up to three lives can be saved" and expressed her conviction that "once again, the community of supporters and Benidorm will come together, demonstrating their most altruistic and supportive side."
Likewise, the Councillor for Fiestas noted that "experience from previous years confirms that these events are always an opportunity to attract new donors, who then respond to other calls periodically held by the Transfusion Centre, as the need for blood remains constant throughout the year." In fact, 250 units of blood are needed daily in the Valencian Community to meet hospital demand, especially for cancer patients, but also for people who are victims of traffic accidents or who suffer blood loss due to surgery.
The only requirements to donate are to be between 18 and 65 years old, be in good health, arrive well hydrated, weigh more than 50 kilograms, and bring an ID or driver's license. Once the donation is made, participants will receive solid food and liquids to regain their strength.
Finally, the councillor thanked the supporters' group, chaired this 2025 by Jonathan López de las Huertas, "for their collaboration so that this 'Festival of Solidarity' can continue for another year and once again be a success in terms of the number of donations."
