Benidorm will host the II Meeting of Local Police Officers of the Valencian Community to be held on March 24. The city will again host this congress that will bring together more than 450 officers and commanders of the body, and that will take place in the Cultural Center.

This second meeting was presented this morning at the Town Hall, with the presence of the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, the main commissioner of the Benidorm Local Police, Juan Fuertes, and members of the organizing committee.

The mayor highlighted in his speech "the honor" that is the venue for this meeting of local police officers represents the city and highlighted the "perception of security" in Benidorm thanks to the work of the Local Police. "It is among the highest values ​​indicated by our tourists above the climate and our beaches" he has indicated. Pérez has also highlighted the "commitment" of the City Council "with the training of agents and the staff of the Local Police."

Antonio Ortega, the member of the organizing committee of the congress, recalled that the first meeting held in March this year "was a complete success with the participation of more than 250 agents and commanders" and has emphasized the "great quality" of the program elaborated “with speakers that are very difficult to obtain”. "It will be a training day approved by IVASPE, but also a fun day to enjoy Benidorm."

The congress will begin with its opening by the mayor and will give way to the first presentations. The first of them, by Francesc Guillén, professor of Constitutional Law at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​will deal with 'Police Models; a changing scenario. It will be followed by the intervention of César Augusto Zaragoza, chief commissioner of Elche, who will speak about the 'Current Situation of the Local Police with respect to Public Security'.

At 12:00 noon a round table will begin with the participation of three magistrates from the Supreme Court; Antonio del Moral, Susana Polo, and Vicente Magro, who will talk about issues such as 'Practical issues on the crime of theft. ', 'The serious problem of the occupation of real estate in Spain. Solutions' and 'Zero tolerance for the increase in hate crimes and discrimination in Spain'.

Two other presentations will be held in the afternoon. At 5:00 p.m., the command of the GEO, Juan Cadenas, will speak about 'The reaction to extreme situations where life is at risk and at 6:30 p.m. the magistrate of the Supreme Court Julián Sánchez-Melgar will speak about 'The violence of gender: a serious social problem'.

The conferences and round tables will be moderated by female police officers from the Valencian Community: Eva Llopis (Gandía), Isabel Almarcha (Rojales), Ana María García (Teulada) and Paula Fajardo (Almassora).

The presentation was closed by Mayor Toni Pérez, who has encouraged the local police officers of the Valencian Community "to register and do it soon because the places will run out" and has stated that "we will make the city available for the event".
